Wine tasting with Nats and Jimmy

First night of visit with a side by side tasting with the St Supery. The later is on of the prides of Napa and always scores well with the wine geeks. The Kim Crawford is from New Zealand and is a house favorite at Burwell and usually purchased by the case.

The KC had a nice hit of grapefruit on the front end and was a delight but we found the St Supery to have more crispness and depth.

We purchase a wine buying guide / tasting book by Andrea Immer Robinson that features 700 of the more common wines seen in restaurants and stores. I liked the book because the reviews seemed pretty close to my experience and the tasting notes were in the pocket sized book making it a handy companion.

We had this selection while at Big Buck Roadhouse in Minnetonka. Great fruit up front, price-point and a paired well with a broad range of foods.

The house wine geek.

Around the majors: JC Romero

This is a great post on JC worth reading: Around the majors

I never liked JC Romero. I always thought he was a punk of the first order with spoonfuls of talent and buckets of ego. He is what is commonly referred to in the West as all hat and no cattle.

He is thankfully long gone from a Twins uniform taking his attitude and very hittable heat with him.
